Eloi closed the door, his expression a mix of a smile and anger.

"Crying beautifully under me..."

Jaden rarely cried as he grew older. He didn't cry when Eloi whipped his back until it was a mess or when he called in low-quality apprentice knights to beat him up. He only contorted his face in pain and let out stifled moans.

It was a bit strange that Jaden cried under Ian, but I didn't particularly want to see Jaden cry. It was just a little annoying that someone else had seen it. I wasn't too bothered, so I didn't plan to make Jaden cry.

Anyway, Jaden was just a means to get rid of Ian, the lowborn, and a tool to uncover the crown prince's secrets by constantly interfering and asserting his authority. I hadn't thought about it, but Jaden crying under Ian was a huge opportunity to gather information. In a broader sense, it wasn't bad. As long as Jaden followed Eloi's orders, it didn't matter what he did or where he went.

Eloi returned to his study with an expressionless face and resumed his work, but his movements were rougher than usual, flipping through papers and waving his pen.

'Would he cry in front of me if I fucked him up the ass?'

Eloi was uncharacteristically flustered by the thought that suddenly popped into his mind. He scowled in annoyance, his eyes on the documents and his mind on work, but useless thoughts like how Jaden cried beautifully and whether he really rolled around with Ian kept floating in his head.

Eloi eventually got up from his chair and sat on the sofa, leaning back.

Why did Jaden do something he wasn't asked to do and annoy him? He sometimes did strange things, but this felt different. It wasn't so much strange as it was excessive. He had asked Jaden to find out information about the young lady of a noble family through a merchant, and Jaden had brought the lady's servant to him.

He had asked Jaden to obtain poison from a plant that only grew in remote areas, and Jaden had brought the whole plant instead of just the poison. He had been a bit excessive in handling these tasks. Well, he had also done strange things like learning art from a famous painter and giving the painting as a gift. By the way, that painting was thrown away a long time ago.

‘It was so ominous that I wanted to ask which painter had taught him.’

The reason Eloi didn't say anything about it was that, in the end, it wasn't a bad thing. This time, too, it wouldn't lead to a bad result, but why? Why was he so annoyed? Was he missing something? Eloi thought carefully.

'When did I start feeling annoyed?'

Was it when Jaden tried to stop him from reading the letter? Or when he read the letter?

"It was when I read the letter."

He had been annoyed when Jaden tried to stop him, but he felt even worse when he read the letter. Eloi slowly went over the contents of the letter in his mind. Then, he stood up abruptly.

"Unforgettable memories of that night... Ian and Jaden spent the night together, but as far as I know, Jaden hasn't stayed out recently. Did he sneak out? I clearly warned him not to do such things."

"Ah."

A memory popped into Eloi's mind. It was Jaden, who usually didn't pay much attention to his appearance, entering Eloi's bedroom early in the morning, dressed.

"How dare you lie to me?"

Eloi muttered menacingly.

‘Yes, that is what has been bothering me!’

Eloi ruffled his golden hair and seriously considered how to deal with Jaden. It was absurd for an animal to deceive its owner. But he couldn't punish Jaden now because he had to attend the Leonis banquet in two days. He would smear Jaden with a lot of potions again, but Jaden would be physically weak, so he had no choice.

He would ask Jaden what he talked about with the Leonis after the banquet and then punish him. Eloi smirked sinisterly. He could finally focus on his work.

Two days passed without a clear solution. Cecil, who had never experienced such a situation before, promised to look into it and told Jaden not to change the flow of the story any further before leaving.

News came that a carriage from the Leonis family had been waiting in front of the mansion since noon and was still there.

I really didn't want to go, but it was out of the question for Jaden to disobey Eloi's orders. I couldn't bear the pressure squeezing my chest, so I left my bedroom, my feet feeling heavy as if they were stuck to the floor. I forced myself to walk more energetically so that I wouldn't look like I was reluctant to go. After all, I had already decided that I was doing this for Eloi.

I knocked on Eloi's study door.

"Brother, it's Jaden."

"Come in."

I entered with a slight smile, having put on a cheerful expression to hide my reluctance.

"I'm going now."

Eloi looked at me without expression and nodded, then averted his gaze. It was a signal for me to leave quickly. As I turned to leave the study—

"Come to me as soon as you return to the mansion."

"Yes."

His tone was as dry as usual, but I felt like he was angry. After living as Jaden for 10 years, I could sense it. However, I didn't have time to figure out why he was angry, as Eloi gestured for me to leave quickly. I hurried to the mansion's front gate, almost running.

As I got into the carriage, I hoped it would take a long time to arrive, but the carriage was enchanted with a speed spell, and we arrived in less than an hour, a journey that should have taken three hours.

Even during the short ride, the servant, Dori, maintained a sullen expression. He helped me out of the carriage with a grimace, despite his already ugly face.

"Your ugly face is getting uglier."

I was already in a bad mood, and it was annoying that Dori kept acting like this, even though I hadn't forced him to come with me.

"Sorry, but I can't help it. I was born with this face."

Dori stuck out his tongue and answered rudely, not sounding apologetic at all.

"You bastard."

I muttered under my breath, but Dori heard me and glared at me with wide eyes.

"I was just joking."

You're acting tough because you have Eloi's backing. I glared at Dori, but not really, as I didn't want to upset Eloi.

‘Ugh, how can I live like this! I feel like my personality is getting worse!’

I entered the mansion with heavy footsteps, and everyone, including Ian, his parents, and even his younger brother, smiled at me. Well, except for his younger brother, who glared at me as if he wanted to kill me.

‘That little guy sure is intimidating.’

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence, Jaden Grace. We are truly honored."

The count, with hair a shade lighter than Jaden's, smiled warmly at me.

"Oh, well, that's good to hear..."

I ignored the count's outstretched hand, crossed my arms, and looked around the mansion disdainfully. The count seemed embarrassed and smiled awkwardly, withdrawing his hand. Well, I didn't want to do this either... Sorry, Count.

"Ian, make sure Jaden feels welcome."

"Yes, Mother."

Ian approached me with a bright smile, and his face seemed even more radiant than before. How could he become even more radiant? He was truly amazing. Although Ian and his family didn't look alike at all, they seemed like a harmonious family to anyone who saw them. Their situation was very different from Jaden's.
